Emergency Electrician in Thornton Heath
Half the house in darkness while the rest stays on, or a socket that has stopped working mid-job in a CR7 flat? That is a live fault, and it needs an electrician, not a guess at the fuse box. Call 020 4600 5848 and one of ours heads over from our base at 18 Tulse Hill, a straight run down the A23 from Thornton Heath, so we usually reach you inside the hour. We make the property safe first, agree the cost with you before any work starts, and carry the parts on the van to put most faults right on the same visit, whether you are near the Pond, up by the High Street or out towards Norbury.
- Quick run down the A23 from our Tulse Hill base, so CR7 is close
- Round-the-clock call-outs, including nights, weekends and bank holidays
- Most faults traced and fixed on the first visit, vans fully stocked
- Used to tired wiring in Thornton Heath terraces and converted flats

020 4600 5848The Thornton Heath Call-Outs We Turn Up To Most
Thornton Heath is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces off the High Street, plus a lot of converted flats and shop units around the station and the Pond, and older wiring under all of it. Here is what we get called to most across CR7:
- Part of the property dead while the rest still has power
- A hot or fishy smell coming off a socket, switch or the fuse box
- An RCD or breaker that trips the instant you reset it
- An ageing consumer unit that hums, feels warm or looks scorched
- Sockets that arc, crackle or have simply gone dead
- Lighting failing on a landing, in a kitchen or in a shop unit
- Wiring caught by a roof leak or an overflow from the flat above
Any of that ringing true? Call 020 4600 5848 and we will isolate it and make it safe, usually within the hour. See the full list on our emergency electrician and electrical repairs work.

We Kill the Danger Before We Touch a Thing
The danger with an electrical fault is the bit you cannot see, a wire cooking behind plaster or a board on the edge of arcing, so the first thing we do is cut the power to it and take the risk out of the room. Then we test to find what actually failed instead of just silencing the warning sign, and we tell you in plain words what the fix involves and what it costs before anyone starts. Everything is done to BS 7671, the current UK wiring regulations, checked again afterwards to prove it holds, and left finished rather than bodged. You are left with working electrics and a clear conscience, not a fault waiting to come back.

Picking an emergency electrician in Thornton Heath
Three things worth checking before you let anyone open your fuse box.
Are they actually registered?
Look for NAPIT (or NICEIC) registration and Part P. It means an outside body has assessed the work and it can be certified and notified to building control. Our Thornton Heath engineers are NAPIT registered and Part P qualified.
Will they really come out at 3am?
A genuine emergency electrician picks up in the middle of the night, not just nine to five. Ask what their response time is and what an out-of-hours visit costs before you book, so there is no nasty surprise later.
Is the price fixed first?
A straight electrician tells you the cost before starting and never quietly tops it up. On every CR7 job we agree the figure with you up front, in writing.
What Our Customers Say
We are a 5-star rated team on Google, and the same notes keep coming up: we actually answer at unsociable hours, we arrive when we said we would, and we clear up after ourselves. A lot of CR7 work reaches us through a neighbour who had us out last month, which is the kind of recommendation you cannot buy. If you want to check us over before you call, the company and its director are on the public Companies House register.
I called for a quote, and within hours, they had someone out to assess the job. They’re also affordable!

What the rules say about electrical work in CR7
Thornton Heath is full of older terraces and converted flats, and some of the electrical work in them is covered by set rules. A registered electrician keeps you the right side of all of it.
- Part P building regulations. New circuits, a consumer unit (fuse box) replacement and work in kitchens or bathrooms all have to be notified. As registered electricians we self-certify and notify Croydon building control for you, so there is no separate council inspection to chase down.
- Landlord EICR. If you let a flat or house in Thornton Heath, an Electrical Installation Condition Report is a legal requirement in England, at least every five years, and the tenant must get a copy. Plenty of the CR7 conversions around the station are overdue one.
- BS 7671 (18th Edition). Everything we do meets the current UK wiring regulations, and every notifiable job leaves you holding the right certificate.
- What you walk away with. New circuits, fuse box swaps, rewires and landlord checks all finish with proper certification, not a spoken "that is done".
Our Certifications & Insurance
Our Thornton Heath electricians are Part P registered and City & Guilds qualified, NAPIT registered and trained to the 18th Edition (BS 7671). Every job carries £5 million of public liability cover.
